IT'S BEEN NOTHING BUT MUSIC, REAL LIFE, PHOTOS OF RL & A LITTLE FEMINISM AS A SIDE DISH
I am so not writing about fandom any more, it's sad! Really sad, I'm actually appalled by myself. This needs to change and I intend to start that change tomorrow, but for now a short round up of what I've blogged about in the past three months.... (WOW, so little. Damn!!) I also really need to write about Final Fantasy: The Four Heroes of Light, because it is JUST TOO CUTE and has crowns. Crowns ♥!

STARTING WITH SOME MUSIC )
I played a bit Odin Sphere, and did not just use Gwendolyn to amuse myself - which I did last weekend at home ♥!! - but actually got further into Velvet's story. I actually defeated Wagner at the second attempt - which greatly surprised me because I am crap with Velvet - and the story bits made me appreciate her a bit more. It's not that she or her story are boring, I guess it is just that she did not intrigue me much when I saw her during the other's storylines and her own - while being pretty interesting and shedding light upon some things - is just not as compelling as the other ones were. What's pretty funny is that the chapter I played today also involved Gwendolyn and I ended up loving and pretty much adoring my favourite character of the game even more and while the chapter brought me closer to Velvet, too, Gwen just got infinitely more wonderful and tragic!

A friend and me had a huge and total fit of laughter!

DIE MINISTERIN SCHRÖDER RECHNET MIT DEM FEMINISMUS AB und DER MÄDCHENBLOG ANTWORTET.

Where the link to this comic comes from, I forgot but it is so SAD BUT TRUE you have to have a look at IN WHICH WE BETRAY OUR GENDER.

ETA:
ALICE SCHWARZER MELDET SICH ZU WORT und auch DER MÄDCHENBLOG GIBT NOCHMAL EINE ÜBERSICHT UND EIN KOPFSCHÜTTEL ZU DEM THEMA.

BEING ERICA: FINAL EPISODE

(no spoilers, so no worries)
It was PERFECT. I am truly sad that it was the final episode, but IMHO the series did everything right and it was the perfect ending for a great television series. I'm sad to have to live without Erica Strange now, but as Dr. Tom would say: "In the face of difficulty lies opportunity."

Spoilers:
Status: Oneshot
Summary: It's Sex-Ed-day at school...

It could mean that—”
“She cares?”
“God,” Watanuki paled at the thought. “That’s even worse. What if it means she’ll never let me leave the shop? She keeps things. What if it means she’s going to try something horrible, like adopting me? What if it means—”
“We have Sex-Ed today.”
“THAT’S NOT FUNNY!”

Hilarious ♥

Title: Like The Doors Of My House
Author: [livejournal.com profile] dorrie6
Pairing: Doumeki/Watanuki
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: The author doesn't warn, so I think there's no need for a spoiler warning.
Status: Oneshot
Summary: Watanuki must confront his feelings for Doumeki the day before Valentine's Day.

Watanuki bristled, wrenching himself away from Doumeki's hands. "Why would you ever think I was making chocolate for Valentine's Day? GIRLS MAKE CHOCOLATE FOR VALENTINE'S DAY! DO I LOOK LIKE A GIRL TO YOU?" And as Doumeki's mouth opened, he added, "DON'T YOU DARE ANSWER THAT, IT WAS RHETORICAL!"

Oh these two, by far one of the most interesting couples ever. Their dynamics can be explored from a seemingly endless number of different angles... ♥

Fandom: Fullmetal Alchemist/Harry Potter Crossover
Title: Mr. Elric
Author: maboroshi-hime
Rating: G
Spoilers: FMA episode 51; HP book 5
Status: Finished
Summary: Edward Elric from various points of view.

He began babbling about how the pain 'wasn't as bad as the first time around' and that 'Winry did a great job the first time around, but when I crossed the gate, the entire arm got lost and we had to redo it' and nonsense. He spoke of a little brother and growled out something about a horse (mustang, was it?). Eventually, his speech lost all coherency and the remaining work was done in silence.

Very short chapters, wonderfully written and as canon as a crossover can be IMHO. (I can see the Harry Potter characters seeing Edward in the various ways they do.)

Title: Invincible
Author: Yuki Scorpio
Pairing: Tezufuji
Rating: K
Spoilers: The author doesn't warn, so I think there's no need for a spoiler warning.
Status: Oneshot
Summary:
At seventeen, Tezuka understood many things. He knew what his feelings for Fuji were and what they meant. And he knew unspoken, unrequitted feelings were supposed to hurt, but it didn't work for him that way.

Since it's a really short story any other excerpt would give too much away and that would spoil the fun.
What immediately springs to my mind when I think about this story is the intimacy and the sensibility that comes across. This story has everything I love about Fuji and Tezuka. It perfectly describes that the way they complement like no one else can.

Title: a love so much refined
Author: [livejournal.com profile] tasheila
Pairing: Kirk/Spock, Sarek/Amanda
Rating: PG
Spoilers: For the movie I'd say ;)
Status: Oneshot
Summary: a promt from [profile] st_xi_kink round two:
Spock/Kirk, Sarek + outsider pov: Sarek watches his son and Kirk together and is reminded of his relationship with his wife - and how deep humans can love - and how humbling it is to be the recipient of such emotions.

Beautifully done! I can't say much or I'd give the best parts away. Believe me when I say that this is one of the most beautiful and melancholy fics I've read so far for the STR fandom (SO FAR).

Title: Breaking Points
Author: [livejournal.com profile] ragdoll987 / Keshka
Pairing: Kirk/Spock
Rating: PG-13 - NC17
Spoilers: For the movie, obviously and the author said that she made some references to TOS but in a way that 'for people who have seen TOS, the context will be enjoyable, but for those that haven't, it shouldn't detract any understanding from the story.' And I think that's true so no real spoilers for TOS, I guess :)
Status: Finished
Summary: When the Enterprise is asked to transport Vulcan colonists to their new home, Spock Prime comes with them. His presence changes everything – even the things Jim isn’t sure he wants to change.

I loved this the first time and I only fell deeper in love while re-reading it.
I liked the style and loved the characterisations. Spot on and in character. And there's also a lot of humour to boot. The story is mostly told from Kirk's point of view (although it's not a first-person perspective) and it's really gorgeous. It made me giddy while reading it, I was dying because of the thrill and because I just couldn't get enough of Breaking Points.

Title: Whore
Author: [livejournal.com profile] igrockspock
Character/Pairing: Gaila
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: Movie, I guess but that's obvious, huh?
Status: Oneshot
Summary:
Gaila hates the word 'whore.' Luckily, so does someone else.

Lovely, lovely, lovely character piece. I can't say any more because that would spoil the fun of reading this short but brilliant ficlet. I fell in love with Gaila.

Title: Course Correction
Author: [livejournal.com profile] igrockspock
Character/Pairing: Gaila/Sulu
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: None. (Not really.)
Status: Oneshot
Summary:
Gaila hard and cynical, unwilling to trust. The person I imagine she was not long after her escape.

Oh, just continuing the Gaila love here, really. This is as faboulous as the first one but with much more - as a friend called it - 'Orion politics' and insight into Gaila's character aswell as her past. And Sulu is a a proper - charming - gentleman.

Title: The Art of New Games
Pairing: Hikaru/Akira
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: The author doesn't warn, so I think there's no need for a spoiler warning.
Status: Oneshot
Summary: Touya really doesn't think his clothes are all that bad. Shindou and photographers disagree. Touya wouldn't really care, except that there are advantages to humoring Shindou once in a while.

By the time the interview has sputtered to a halt, however, he's feeling rather like there is Go and there is People Who Do Not Play Go, and maybe it's not a good idea to try to explain the one to the other. At least the photographer seems happy. Maybe the article will just have a lot of pictures and a brief mention of Shindou's imaginary snowboarding.
